St. Paul Lutheran Church is a lively, steadily growing congregation of the ELCA, officially organized as a congregation on October 16, 1960. While located in Old Saybrook, its members come from a wide range of communities along the shoreline and the Connecticut River Valley. Sunday worship with Holy Communion takes place at 9:30 a.m. We employ a variety of liturgies throughout the year. Opportunities to worship midweek are available during the evening according to the liturgical seasons. A Sunday Learning time for children is at 9:30 a.m. Coffee is always on!

Know that we hold you all in prayer - that God pours outs His blessings upon you and your loved ones.

We partner with The Reverend Nathan Clements as we together spread the Good News far and wide! Pastor Nathan was born and raised in northern Illinois. His father is a Lutheran pastor and his mother was a church musician, elementary school paraprofessional, and children’s librarian prior to retirement. Pastor Nathan graduated from Concordia with a Religion major and Biology minor. During the summers, he worked for Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center in Oregon, IL where he met his future wife, Emily Nelson. Next, Pastor Nathan attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul. Upon graduation, the Clements moved to Dickinson, ND, where Pastor Nathan was the Program Director at Badlands Ministries.
In 2013 Pastor Nathan accepted the call to serve as the Assoc. Director of Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp near Lakeside, MT. Northwest Montana was their home until 2017 when they returned to the Midwest and the parish rhythm of ministry. Pastor Nathan served as the pastor of American Lutheran Church in La Porte City, IA for the five years.
Pastor Nathan, his wife, Emily and son Jonathan are grateful for the opportunity to serve as your partners in ministry in Old Saybrook.
